When the original Requiem concert was being organized, I wrote two separate pieces to be performed before the initial mass. O Vos Omnes was the first of these two pieces.
It was written as a soprano duet in Latin, with organ accompaniment, and is loosely based on the melody of Gariden's Prayer from Legacy of Magnus. It is not unlike Veni Creator Spiritus in its style, with the exception that part of the melody took more influence from Middle Eastern music .
Due to the concert cancellation it has yet to be performed, but I have no doubt that the day will eventually come. |
